captivating christian metalcore

cntxt

Context is a Christian Metalcore band from West Virginia dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through their music. They have established themselves in the Christian Metal scene with their bold and clear lyrics. Their sound has evolved to incorporate elements of Progressive Music, Deathcore, Djent, and Spoken Word into their foundation of Metalcore. Since their inception in 2018, they have independently released three EPs, covers, an original Christmas song, and a full-length album, with "Tides" being their latest EP that reinterprets songs that have influenced their journey.

The band has shared the stage with notable acts such as Convictions, No Treaty, Meadows, Relent and Brotality, as well as performing at festivals like Audiofeed, Immersion, and Jesus Fest. Their live performances are characterized by intense energy, heavy riffs, driving drums, and emotionally charged vocals, fostering a connection with fans as they openly share their faith between songs.

Kingdomcore 2023 Album of the year #47

"@cntxtband is too good to go unnoticed! Their new EP ‘Indwelling’ came out back in March and the boys really took it up a notch with this one. They took their normal hybrid of spoken word and progressive metalcore, and threw in some deathcore elements to spice things up. Context are one of the most outspoken bands in the scene and straight up preach out of the Bible on stage. We need more unashamed bands like them in Christian metal.

Kingdomcore 2021 Album of the year #38

"Context is a special band that I’m excited to share with you guys. If you have felt that the Christian metal scene has been lacking in solid theological lyrics, Context has you covered. They are without a doubt one of the most biblically accurate, unashamedly Christian bands that the scene has ever had. Along with convicting and Christ-centered lyrics, Context has a heavy, technical metalcore sound similar to some of the scene’s most relevant bands. ‘Kingdoms’ is an exceptionally well written metalcore record, and one of the most uplifting albums I head this year!🤘

Sanctify Studios "Pressure" reaction

"I am seriously blown away by the insane energy of this Christian Metal Band CONTEXT and their new single PRESSURE! 🔥 They pretty much capture a beautiful balance of dark prayerfully real lyrics mixed in with Truth that is based in biblical ... you guessed it, biblical CONTEXT 🔥 Don't sleep on this one guys because I have a feeling they are gonna explode! Check out my reaction and don't forget to Subscribe, Share, Follow, Comment, and SUPPORT CHRISTIAN MUSIC 🔥"

Pastor Rob Reacts (Robert Houghton) “Compassion” reaction

"These lyrics had me in tears this morning. As someone who has been in ministry for 15+ years, I have always had one thing constantly burdening me. I want the people to know and experience the compassionate love of Jesus! I have met so many people who are wrestling with sin and shame, who cannot believe God would extend grace to them. I’ve met people who are hurt, with marriages that are falling apart, victims of abuse, and abandonment, etc. I’ve seen so much pain over the years and I just wish they could see the compassion of Christ! The love in the blood that was spilled for them!

The vocalists crying plea to God in this song is same cry I’ve always had deep in my soul! I pray for all of you reading this, that you fall into the loving arms of Christ and experience TRUE compassion! 🙏🙏🙏"

For The Rock "Kingdoms" reaction

"The new LP from @cntxtband is out now! Go and jam this banger of an album, full of great lyrics, heart, and progressive metalcore! Kingdoms is definitely worth your attention, and the whole album is pointing straight to Jesus. I had the pleasure of meeting these guys via video chat recently, and they are committed to putting Christ first and it is evident in this album. Consider grabbing a copy on Bandcamp!"
